Grammar Can be Cool
Anyone vs. any one
Anyone is a compound pronoun meaning “any single person or thing.” For example, “Did anyone get a perfect mark on the exam?” (meaning did any person get a perfect mark).
Any one is a phrase that puts a greater emphasis on the word one. It usually followed by the word “of.” For example: “I am having a difficult time choosing between the excellent books for sale. I would be happy with any one of them.”
Thank–you’s
Thank-you’s to the people and organizations and institutions that helped made this school possible and successful.
Particularly we would like to take time to thank and acknowledge the community of Fort Rupert, the Kwakiutl Band, Marion Hunt, Karen Aoki, and Wagalus School Staff, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, First Nations Education Steering Committee, First Nations Schools Association, Breakfast for Learning, and the Kwakiutl District Council.
There are many more that contribute to the school and we thank those that are unmentioned at this time as well.
